Who Else Wants To Know About A Bubble Bath?

I know that I love a good bubble bath, and I know that my daughter does as well. Unfortunately, at age four, she has already been put on restriction. She had a yeast infection a year ago and they told me it was most likely from the bubbles in her bath. I was shocked when they told me this, as I had no idea that girls so young could have a yeast infection, but she was living proof that it happened. The doctor assured me that it was nothing that was all that uncommon, and she sees this problem a lot. We narrowed down the possibly suspects to the bubble bath, and thus, I have to make sure that she only gets one once in a while.

I remember taking a bubble bath as a kid, and I remember taking them often. I guess I didn’t have the same problem as my daughter, and perhaps that was why I was so confused when my doctor told me what was wrong. She must have been correct though, as I have only allowed her to have a bubble bath once or twice a month since then, and she has not had a reoccurrence of the problem. I wish someone would have warned me. I thought yeast infections were something that only adult females have to worry about.

I think the experience with my daughter has scared me away from the bubble bath as well. I know this isn’t very sane of me, as I have never had a problem with it before. I would think that if I were ever going to have such a problem due to the bubble bath it would have happened to me a lot earlier in life. I used to live in the bubble bath. In fact, I lived in a house that had the most amazing tub in it, and I took at least three a week just because I could.

If you have never had a problem with a bubble bath before, you probably have nothing to worry about. However, if you have a young daughter and are introducing her to the fun of a bubble bath fro the first time, try to use products made just for babies, and limit the amount of time they spend in the bath and the amount of times you allow them to use the bubbles. If she develops a yeast infection like my daughter did, make sure you tell your doctor how often she has bubbles and what type of product you use.
